Mechanical circulation air-conditioning refrigeration is the use of combustion-supporting agent in the nitrogen generator to reverse cycle the gas in the storage room and then send it to the cold storage room to create a low oxygen and high carbon dioxide environment (oxygen is 1% to 3%, carbon dioxide is 3% ~5%). This method is more economical than flushing, and has a faster oxygen reduction rate. The warehouse does not need to be airtight. The warehouse door can be opened to access food in the middle, and then the required gas composition can be quickly established, so this method is widely used.

There are two main methods: the natural oxygen reduction method with nitrogen and the natural oxygen reduction method with carbon dioxide. Therefore, first use the rapid oxygen reduction method to fill the refrigerator with nitrogen, so that the oxygen quickly drops to about 10%, and then rely on the respiration of the fruits and vegetables to further reduce the oxygen content, and the carbon dioxide content gradually increases until it reaches the specified air composition range Then, adjust and control according to the change of gas composition. The carbon dioxide-filled natural oxygen reduction method is a method in which fruits and vegetables are packed into plastic film tents and sealed, and then filled with a certain amount of carbon dioxide, and then relying on the breathing of the fruits and vegetables themselves and adding nitrate lime to make the oxygen and carbon dioxide drop simultaneously. In this way, using the charged carbon dioxide to offset the adverse conditions of high oxygen at the initial stage of storage, the effect is obvious, which is superior to the natural oxygen reduction method and approaches the rapid oxygen reduction method. Because the oxygen content drops rapidly at the beginning, this method controls the respiration of fruits and vegetables and prevents the rot of perishable products like strawberries. Therefore, the mixed oxygen reduction method is superior to the natural oxygen reduction method: in the middle and late stages, it relies on the inherent respiration of fruits and vegetables. The oxygen is reduced naturally, so the cost of reducing the oxygen in the commercial refrigeration faster is lower.
